The temperature has been in the mid 30's for several weeks now..
I try to get my chores done by mid morning, after that everything is hard work.
..and I scoot off to the beach.
..but it's at night when it's cooled down to a bearable 29 degrees
when folk come out.
This is the season of summer evening festivals,
weddings and eating out in the open air gardens of tavernas.
...and of course, dancing...
The village...
at 1.00am, walking home...in the cool....

I love the village shots best. All those people, my goodness. Not a way to stay cool I think. ;-)
Stay cool.
Oh my, I am so looking forward to my Big Fat Greek Gap Year! Lovely post Jude.
Looks beautiful Jude.
What are temperatures like during the first 2 weeks of October? What part of Crete is the most picturesque, with nice, cove type beaches and walks, in your opinion?
Visited Mallorca in 2011, which was wonderful, now looking at Crete as a possibility for this year... Lesley x
The walk home looks lovely ... with the smell of white jasmine flowers . Perfect .
Hi Jude, Oh and I am missing it all to. I must start to blog again now that I have internet again after such a long time. Got my wii connected to my tv now too. Just about to turn into bed, catch you soon. Love to all xxx
Hello you...
Just caught up on your last 3 posts.. I could almost romantasise about living near you, drying out almonds in the sun, beautiful surroundings & beaches. Evening celebrations & crocheting (if I could)
Except I would be as fractious as a toldler in the heat...
I cannot believe Lyrs is 2 - How time flies & Seren is just the most beautiful name...
Its lovely to see you back.

This is simply splendid. I lived in mainland Greece for almost two years so these pictures speak volumes to me. I went to Crete once one March whilst living in Greece.
It is lovely to meet you.
