Can you hear the knitting needles clicking away??
I started with a Debbie Bliss pattern from her book,Simply Baby, with some gorgeous Debbie Bliss cotton yarn.
Even though Bethan says Matt has large feet, I'm not sure the baby will ever have feet big enough for these.. It could well have started school and be wearing them as socks..
So, I tried another pattern, these cute Mary Jane's look more like 0-3 months, don't you think??
I'm rather pleased with them, I know it will be June/July and it's rather hot in Saudi...
but, but, but!! Ok, shall I start knitting items that are for an older baby? For when they go to live in the UK??
But, but I like knitting tiny things...any suggestions??
What do you think of this then?
I knitted this from the home spun, hand dyed alpaca I was sent from A Bag of Olives
It's really lovely and soft and fits around my neck, brilliant idea! I can wear it with jumpers and cardies, just what I need here when I don't need a huge scarf..neat!!

Those bootees are really sweet - don't worry, babies grow very fast and will soon fit the mega-bootees!
I love the neck warmer you made for yourself - it looks so soft and snuggly!
Wish I could knit :)
Jude, I too have taken up knitting again, but confine myself to little things - baby, Teddy and doll's clothes. The little Mary Jane's are my favourite. They are so cute. I have found it better to knit for 6-12 months onwards, as they seem to get more wear out of them. For babies I also do Birth Wall hangings and Pillows. You will see them on my blog, and are a nice momento. I like to knit very plain jumpers and cardi's and embellish them with embroidery, or fabric applique for a designer look. Must learn how to crochet to do little edgings. I love the neck warmer. It looks so comfy to wear.
Those Mary Janes are so lovely - almost enough to make me broody (oooh, do you think they'd work on your hens & get them broody?!) Lucky little person.
A friends Grandma knitted me the most beautiful shawl, used it when feeding to protect my erm, modesty...
I was also knitted a really plain cardigan with a hoodie, in a denim type wool. The now 9 year old looked undeniably cute in it.
The scarf looks lovely, really delicate.
Love Lydia
all your knitting is quite supurb.
The baby can use them with doll clothes when she is bigger, if she is a she; or a he who likes dolls.
scarf is yummy too.
Nice cowl, I know as I have seen it first hand. The bootees are cutte too. So whats next on the knitting list then?
Oh, the booties are adorable....congrats on being an expecting grandmother, ok, you know what I mean! Knit a little hat to go with the booties too. Love your chicken post!
Ooooooooooooooooo GORGEOUS! Really, really lovely Mum, thanks.
Don't forget we have airconditioning on full blast in the summer, so I agree with earlier poster that matching hats might be a plan xx
I am catching up on your blog, nice chooks...The boots/socks/neck warmer all look very nice to me, clever you.
Best wishes Blu

Just love the bootees and the neck warmers. Both would sell well.

Yeay! I'm glad the alpaca pleases you! You've made a beautiful neck thing with it. Just fabulous!

The thing about knitting for babies is that you can create something too big, safe in the knowledge that it will eventually be just the right size. Those little Maryjanes are very sweet.
Re your hens, I'm sure that it's just that they are not yet at point of lay.
Too cute! Your knitting skills are definitely good!! i was going to say it almost makes me want and baby and then I thought.. Err no, I don't want one that much!
Cute!!!
They'll never fit you Jude ! :-))

thank you for your comment on my blog Jude - there are days when words like this resonate aren't there? Anyway I think you should knit all of these - whatever takes your fancy. gifts like these satisfy us in the giving itself even if they are not used as much as they might. Just keep clicking!
Hello there!
I think the bootees are adorable, it makes me feel a bit broody actually, remembering little feet in little tiny shoes like that...lovely neck warmer too, a very pretty pattern!
