"Do You Ever Finish Anything?"

A few weeks back I was asked this question and it made me think about other crafters habits...
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has several projects and test pieces on the go at the same time??

I enjoy dabbling in different projects,
testing out ideas,
and making sure that there are no mistakes before I proceed onto
an important piece. Anybody notice what's wrong with the
blackwork below??

Anyhow!! the answer is yes...yes!! I do!!
I so enjoyed knitting this lovely little wraparound top, in the beautiful Sirdar Baby Crofters yarn
I'm knitting a different style cardi in the same yarn..
I admit that sometimes my experiments lead me to a dead end and I suspect these
little devils might be lying at the bottom of my knitting basket for a while..
but this has a home already....
So, what do you do??
Work at one piece until it's complete?
Or, do you, like me, enjoy having several pieces on the go at the same time??
I'd love to hear from you.

I love the baby Crofter, and knitted for my two grandsons over the winter. Of course the pink is MUCH prettier than the more boy-appropriate colours!
I tend to have several projects on the go at any one time but generally finish them.

Carol I. I can only have 1 project going at once.

I always have loads of stuff on the go but hate to not finish it - even if it isn't for years or in a different form! I have a friend who makes just for the pure joy of making and she doesn't care if she has something usable at the end of it - I would love to be like that but I am more someone who enjoys the end product - I have even been known to take short cuts!! I am very impressed with all you are making - what a lot there is! :D

Well, I always work one piece until it is done...but I do have more than one thing going at a time sometimes too. Right now I am knitting a baby blanket; and re-working an art quilt. Yesterday I finished an art quilt. I normally do the knitting in the evenings and the art quilts in the day time.
And of course my mind is always full of ideas for things to come.
Oh I might do an occasional drawing in between it all as well. Sometimes it depends on shows that are coming up; and sometimes on the many challenge groups I join as to what needs attention when. I like to keep busy with something at all time.

I'm a terrible 'flitter'. I always like to have some knitting, some crochet, some sewing machine sewing, some hand sewing.....all on the go so I can do what I fancy but it can get a bit intimidating so now and again I try to have a real finishing blitz. The little wrap cardi is just gorgeous and I'm not surprised that it got finished!

Yes I have several bits on the go, the only thing that gets finished on time are my cards. Then I work on what takes my fancy. Love the bits you have shown.

I always have far, far too many projects on the go at once. Lovely little cardigan there and I envy you the ability to do "ripple" style crochet. I think I am going to have to resort to Youtube to try and master it.

Hello Jude. I'm new in your blog. I always have several projects on the go. I love knitting, I can say I'm addicted to knitting but I love crochet and cross-stitch too. Your projects are wonderful. Sorry if I made some mistakes!!!

You know me Jude, I always have more than one thing on the go. Knitting, crochet, sewing. It keeps me from getting bored.

I've only just happened upon your blog and had to chuckle at your lament about having lots of things on the go. I'm sure it's close to universal!

In my case, limited by what can reasonably be carried on buses, I have socks and mitts to keep me busy till I get to bits that require concentration, then hats that don't take a lot of effort but more room - I could keep listing, but you'll understand my perspective.

You have to have something in your hands; well, I do and I know others do, too. It can't always be that big fisherman's sweater (although the baby wrap cardie in that delightful pink colourway might just about fit all requirements).

cheers

Hello Jude! Gosh, all your projects are just lovely! My favourite is the little pink cardigan, it looks so snuggly and delicious!
I knitted the rainbow socks from two different balls of yarn as I knew that I would want to knit a second pair at some point, so didn't mind buying 200gms! Plus they made the rainbows match!
thank you for all of your lovely comments always on my posts! I love to hear from you!
