Experiment

Posted by Picasa
Well, my first try at a couple of techniques.
I followed instructions from my new book 'Beginner's Guide to Machine Embroidery'.
I tried out my new fabric paints and the metallic threads. Oh, and the iron-on interfacing.
I'll continue and show you the finished results soon, exciting!!!
Any helpful suggestions would be grateful.

Very interesting. What fabric paints are you using? Liquid or crayon? I like those circles.
Are you having any problems with the metalic threads breaking in or bunching up behind the piece? What kind of needle are you using in your machine?
I look forward to see how this turns out.

Looking really good. Reminds me a bit of those badges / brooches Jane made for a while. I want a go!!

Lovely! Have you tried painting bondaweb with silk paints and ironing it onto plain cotton? You can make wonderful scenes with paint colourwashes that you can then stitch into .Just a bit of food for thought.
